The PPAA is a federated body composed of member organizations from Queensland (Queensland Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Association), Victoria (Victorian Association of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists, Victorian Child Psychotherapists Association), NSW (NSW Institute of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy), W.A. (Association of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy of Western Australia), S.A. (Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Association of South Australia) and New Zealand (Institute of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy). Through our member organizations the total membership is in excess of 200.

The member organizations adhere to membership, ethical and training standards as required and described by the constitution of the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Association of Australasia. Affiliated psychotherapists who are members of these organizations are committed to upholding these standards in their work and continuing professional development.

As the size of member organizations vary considerably, these standards can differ depending on the size of the membership.
